The time when the planet Sun transits in Aries (corresponding to March-April), is known as the first month of the year, the Chaitra Month’. For all those who follow the Lunar calendar, Chaitra month would be the first month of the year. The Sun is exaltated in Aries with a new beginning of life and full strength. The child born with the exalted Sun will have good support from the father and success in the politics and will be in favor of the government.

We Indians, and many others, celebrate the beginning of this auspicious Chaitra month this year on the 14th April 2019 (Sunday). We have the golden opportunity of enhancing the role of the Sun in our life, during this one month of the Vedic Year. Chaitra Purnima is also celebrated as one the important festivals during the Chaitra month, where the Moon will shine the brightest Nakshatra (star), which is known as Chitra Nakshatra. This is the auspicious month when the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga is also worshiped, and the ritual is known as the Chaitra Navratri. It is an important night for the chanting of Devi Bagvatam, Sunderkand and Ramayan as well.

The divine river Yamuna has descended on the earth in the auspicious Chaitra month in the six phases of Waxing Moon. Worshiping Goddess Yamuna will cleanse the malefic effect and aspect on your Moon planet in the birth chart.
